When writing a research paper, it is very important to add credibility to your paper in anyway possible. For us college students gaining credibility could be as easy as adding an excerpt from a scholar into your paper. However, if you hope to remain a college student it is very important that you give the scholar credit somewhere in your paper. This was the main focus of chapter 7. I believe it is very important that we remember the importance of citations as they are a critical skill that we need to know for the future. Or at least that was the lesson my middle school librarian always told me. Chapter 7 once more deeply reinforced the importance of citations to me.
